Or who currently suffers, and has suffered for some time, with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes. Monitoring what you eat can be vitally important. If you don’t? You are taking a risk. Sugar levels in your blood could spike. That’s not a good thing. There are five significant foods which should be controlled. By reducing them, you can lower the risks, and look after your health!

Sweet Treats

Too much, and excessive amounts of sugar in your diet is bad. For a diabetic, it’s much worse. Even if you don’t yet have the disease. If you are already at risk. Why make the possibility greater? Excessive sugar or glucose can be dangerous for a diabetic. If you are a healthy weight. Of course. A sweet treat now and again doesn’t hurt. But stay clear of regular sweet treats.

The Demon Drink

Alcohol is not only lurking in that gin and tonic! Sugar is. In moderation. Neither should cause any problems. However. Start knocking back those drinks and you could soon be heading for trouble. In more ways than one! Especially if you haven’t had a good meal beforehand. General guidelines suggest. A couple a day is Okay for men. Women? They’re best sticking to just one.

Fatty Foods

Reducing the fried food you eat isn’t just a good way to aid losing weight. Fried chicken and chips might be your favourite food. But it definitely won’t be your body’s! Simply brimming with saturated fats. Diabetics are best to leave well alone. Boil, bake or stir fry your meat and vegetables instead. Removing saturated fats from the diet of a diabetic can produce extremely favourable results. It can even mean stopping medications altogether.

Whole Milk Produce

Dairy products made with full fat milk are also high in saturated fats. Make the switch to reduced and low fat versions of your favourite dairy foods. Do this, and there’s no need to go without.

Savoury Sodium

Some people put way too much salt on their snacks and food. Excessive amounts of salt has been associated with High Blood Pressure. A condition which is linked to diabetes. Cut it down gradually. You’ll be surprised how quickly you get used to it! Use salt replacements or herbs instead. And stay clear of high salt, processed foods. An easy way to avoid taking risks with your health.

Manage your health and your diabetes. Monitor or avoid the above food types. Keep your diet risk free! It really is for you own good!
